Summary of role: To manage the operations of an ongoing PPP (private-public-partnership between Haryana State Govt’s Board for construction workers and LabourNet a private limited company promoted by MAYA, a 20-year old Bangalore based NGO) project which registers construction workers, provides them with various welfare benefits and training, and finally markets their services to corporate customers. The Haryana NCR region covers the national capital region districts of Gurgaon and Faridabad, and the project team is distributed over 4 locations and numbers about 60 persons.
Your responsibilities will include:
Role:
• To manage a team (currently 60 persons and likely to grow) spread over 5 locations engaged in enrollment of workers, provision of benefits for which providers and processes exist, and marketing their services to corporate customers
• To maintain good relationship, meet expectations of, and report to, Govt officials from the BOCWWB (Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board, Dept of Labour, Govt of Haryana). The secretary of the board is the Labour Commissioner of Haryana.
• To ensure implementation of programs, meeting of objectives and management of all processes
• To solve problems, resolve conflicts and drive strategy
• To oversee proper functioning of infrastructure for the project
Desired attributes:
• Graduate with at least 10 years experience or Post Graduate with at least 7 years experience
• Experience in managing people, specifically a large team distributed across locations
• Ability to work with government officials and corporate customers
• A fundamental interest in working in the developmental sector is a must; Knowledge or experience of development sector is desirable;
• Good understanding of operational processes, reporting and documentation
• Positive minded, confident, inspiring, self-starter, able to manage stress and multi-tasking
Ability to manage Public Private Partnership
Lead a large & diverse team & provide leadership
