Key Considerations :-

1. Mastery in scripting languages.(ruby,php is a must, python is a plus).
2. Experience in developing web applications using Ruby on Rails
3. Clarity over core computer science priciples (like REST, ORM, OOP, caching etc)
4. Experience in Test Driven Development, Behavior driven development along with tools like Test Unit, Rspec, shoulda, Cucumber etc
5. Good knowledge of design patterns like MVC,singleton,factory etc
6. Scaling databases(preferably MYSQL), caching out application tier(memcache) etc
7. Be up to date with latest trends and technologies in the web development space(like cloud computing, web services etc).

1. B.E/BTech/MCA/Mtech [preferably computer science]
2. Demonstrated experience to code, execute web projects while using versioning software(SVN,Git) and bugtracking software.
3. Mastery over Rails,JavaScript, AJAX, MYSQL and PHP.
